History
Emakina was created in 2001 as a result of the merging of three existing agencies: Emalaya, Net At Work and Ex Machina. The three companies pooled their complementary expertise and created the ‘Emakina’ brand – the contraction of Emalaya and Ex Machina. In July 2006, Emakina entered the Alternext, the segment of Euronext reserved for growing SMEs. This introduction to the financial markets enabled us to expand at a European level.
In 2008, Emakina completed its international development by creating new ‘centres of excellence’ that offer specific areas of expertise in digital communications: measuring return on investment and search marketing (Emakina/Perform), media buying and planning (Emakina/Media), social media and PR (Emakina/Social), interactive direct marketing (Emakina/Direct), mobile applications and sites (Emakina/Mobile), creative hothouse (Emakina/aprilFIRST) and audiovisual production (Emakina/Motion).
Thanks to this alliance of creativity, technology and business expertise, Emakina has become the leading interactive agency in the Belgian market and one of the top 20 big players in Europe. This strong growth confirms Emakina Group’s long-term ambition to become one of the top 5 European interactive agencies.
